Turquoise Australia 3rd Deaf Short Film Festival Awards Night

Turquoise Australia announced last Saturday 25th January 2014 the Jury and Audience awards of the 2014 Australian Deaf Short Film at the Awards Night, hosted by Medina Sumovic and Vanessa Ravlich, in Melbourne, Victoria.

The best International Short Film Award was presented to Retreat / United Kingdom (Director: Ted Evans).

The best Australian Short Film Award was presented to VCD Deaf & Proud / Melbourne (Director: Irene Holub and Ramas Rentelis).

The best Actor Award was presented to Sophie Stone for Retreat / United Kingdom (Director: Ted Evans).

The best Director Award was presented to Ted Evans for Retreat / United Kingdom.

The ‘People Choice’ Short Film Award was presented to Le Portrait / France (Director: Alex Sambe).

Earlier during the day at this Film Festival

The best Youth Short Film Award was presented to The Battery Battle / United Kingdom (Director: William Horsefield).

The 2014 Festival presented 21 short films, representing 8 countries. These films were selected from 78 submissions.
